A2Z EdTech is comprised of three passionate educators looking to change the face of education in the digital landscape.
Alex Stubenbort (@alexstubenbort) is an English and AVID Elective teacher from Citrus Springs, Florida. In 2015, he was honored as Teacher of the Year in Citrus County, FL and served on a panel at Governor Rick Scott’s Educational Summit. Alex has successfully implemented 1:1 instruction in his classroom and regularly leads professional development throughout Citrus County to teachers, families, and stakeholders alike. Furthermore, he has presented about edtech implementation, pedagogy, and digital workflow at the Future Florida Educators’ Association Conference, Edcamp Citrus, and has been featured in the Citrus Chronicle as both a subject and a writer. Alex regularly blogs at https://alexstubenbort.wordpress.com/ and was the recipient of the Florida Governor’s SHINE Award for educational excellence in 2014. Dan Koch (@danvkoch) is an English teacher, Media Arts teacher and Yearbook adviser from Citrus Springs, Florida. Voted teacher of the year at his school and an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2015, Dan helped pilot the 1:1 iPad initiative for Citrus County, Florida, and has published the book "Pillars of the iPad School" on the iBooks Store. Dan has worked with Apple and FASA to design iTunes U courses for other educators linking to apps and ELA standards, and leads professional development technology training throughout Citrus County, Florida. He has spoken about digital instructional strategies, grading & assessment, and instructional technology at the Future of Educational Technology Conference, the Florida Capitol, and has been published by Sophia.org and the Citrus County Chronicle. Dan runs the EdTech blog Techagogy and was awarded the Florida Governor's SHINE award in 2015. He was named PBS Lead Digital Innovator for Florida in 2016. Zac Leonard has been teaching in Citrus County for 9 years. He helped pilot the 1:1 program at Citrus Springs Middle School, has initiated 1:1 programs at three different schools, and has extensive experience with successful educational technology implementations. Zac has presented to teachers nationwide on implementation of educational technology in various environments, including 1:1, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), or cart based. His focus through all of this is pedagogy over technology. Zac is a consummate leader in and out of the classroom, seeking to improve the organizations he works with and advocate digital literacy across the curriculum. |
